DNS guide

Point your domain at your new site

This is the one step you handle yourself, and it's smaller than it sounds. Pick the situation that matches you and follow the steps. A few minutes, once, and you never touch it again.

Change only the A and CNAME records we give you, and leave everything else exactly as it is, especially anything to do with email. As long as you don't touch your other records, your email keeps working as normal.

Which of these is you?

I manage my domain myself

You have the login for your domain provider.

  1. Open your DNS setup page

In our confirmation email, tap the button to your DNS setup page. It shows the exact A and CNAME records for your domain, ready to copy and paste. The same values are in the email itself too.

  2. Log in to your domain provider

That's wherever you bought your domain. Look for a section called DNS, DNS settings, DNS management, or advanced settings.

  3. Update your A and CNAME records

Copy each value from your setup page into the matching record. Change only the A and CNAME records we give you, and don't remove or edit anything to do with email.

  4. Save, and leave the rest to us

Save your changes. The update can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to spread across the internet. We watch for it and put your new site live automatically. You don't need to tell us it's done.

Not sure which field is which? Send us a screenshot of your DNS page at hi@nobssite.com and we'll point to the exact spot.

Still stuck?
